Preschool Class
Preschool classes are available for children 3 - 4 years of age. Preschool Class 1 is for 3 yr. olds and will meet Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00-11:30. Preschool Class 2 is for 3-4 yr. olds and will meet Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, 9:00-11:30. These children explore in a stimulating environment, and learn about relationships outside their family. Throughout the year some academic learning is introduced through play and the arts. Children continue to practice sharing and taking turns. They learn about structure and listening.
Pre Kindergarten
Children who are mature 4 year olds, or going on 5 early in the school year, and those who are 5 but not yet ready for Kindergarten are in class five mornings each week from 9 to 11:30. The program is academic preparation for Kindergarten, incorporating the use of many “hands-on” experiences. We have expanded this program to include Enrichment Days which you can read about by clicking on the parent newsletter on our home page. This provides an opportunity for these children to bring a lunch and stay for the afternoon.
Enrichment Days
Enrichment Days allow for opportunities for extended experiences for the children. Preschool and Pre Kindergarten students can bring a lunch, and stay until 3:15. This allows them expanded time to experience computers , arts and crafts, games, cooperative play, music, science and many other experiences during thier extended day. There will be a rest time following lunch recess before the fun-filled afternoon begins.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten students meet in a full day program from 8:45 - 3:15. Children should be 5 by August 1. Academics are presented in a fun and “hands-on” manner. They bring their lunch to school. The full day program allows for an expanded curriculum including science, social science, music, art, and physical education.
Elementary
Elementary students enjoy a full academic program which meets and surpasses the curriculum guide of the State of Indiana. Language Arts is taught through literature, and includes reading, language, spelling, writing, handwriting and literary appreciation. Math includes many “hands-on” activities getting the concepts fully grounded, as well as constant drill on math facts for computation.
